See also Evony Guides Wooden barricades are used to stop Horsemen only. They have no effect on Infantry units. Like all Evony defenses it is only effective in huge numbers.

If an attacker wants to capture a city, they can only be removed by cavalry. Because cavalry are expensive this is one way to 'capture proof' a city. Obstacle formed of the branches of trees laid in a row, with the tops directed towards the enemy. The trees are usually interlaced or tied with wire. Abatis is used alone or in combination with wire entanglement and other obstacles. Abatisses are used in war to keep the approaching enemy under fire for as long as possible. Most useful against highly mobilized troops such as horse men.   Requirements to build is walls Level 2, metal casting Level 1, Food 100, Lumber 1200, and Iron 150.
